Modules

Module I: BASICS OF AYURVEDA AND SHARIRA

Basic theory of Ayurveda
Definition of ayurveda, definition of ayu (life). Signs of ayu, beneficial / unbeneficial ayu. Origin and history of ayurveda, eight branches of ayurveda, goal of ayurveda, concept of daily regimen, seasonal regimen natural urges etc
Theory 4 hrs X6=24 hours
Practicals:-6 hours Assigments and Home work.


Philosophy of Ayurveda
Sapta padartha – basic seven elements, dravya, guna, karma,, samavaya,vishesha, abhava with brief details. Shad darshana Darshana – astika darshana, nastik drashan, Pramana, Lokapurusha samya (inter realation between human and universe), samanya vishesha (principle of similarity and dis similarity), panchamahabhuta (five basic elements) :

Theurapeutic principles of ayurveda
Concept of Three dosha, three mala,Concept of seven dhatu, Concept of Agni,Concept of Sub Doshas Concept of Prakriti and its Analysis ,Chart.

Anatomy and physiology
Rachana and kriya sharira (anatomical and physiological aspects) – Sharira definition and details, travel of body from metaphysical to physical ( purusha concept), brief garbha sharira (embryology) and manifestation of organs. concept of srotas (systems/channels in body), Detailed study of special body parts / systems like twacha (skin layers), kala (border/layers), mamsa/ pesh(muscular), asthi (bones) sandhi (joints) kandara (tendons) and circulatory system

Module II: AYURVEDIC DIET AND NUTRITION

Ayurvedic Nutrition and Dietetics-part-1
Tripods of life - diet sleep and celibacy,Gunas in Food,Composition of Food,Classification of Food,healthyand Unhealthy Regimen,Regimen according to Doshas,Regimen of Spring&Summer,Regimen of Autumn and Winter

Ayurvedic Nutrition and Dietetics-part-2

Module III:PSYCHOLOGY AND SPIRITUALITY

Basic Ayurvedic psychology & Diagnose Manas budhhi,ahankara, Trigunas, Aspects of Mind and Health, Concept of health and Disease,maintainance and Balance of Doshas.

Spiritual aspect of Ayurveda & Introduction to Disease Definition of disease and synonyms, Sub Doshas Vitiation, Relation between Dosha and Disease, Classification of diseases Etc

(Abhyanga) part 1
Theory 1 day: Abhyanga - definition types - Abhyanga, Samvahana, Mardana, indication contraindication benefits methods frequencies of abhyanga. Rule for massooss, receiver etc. different types of oils used for massage. Abhyanga complications

Abhyanga part 2
